Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, company name, and password (stored as a secure hash).
Employee data: As an admin, you add employee names, email addresses, roles, departments, pay rates, and PIN codes to manage your team.
Punch records: Clock-in and clock-out timestamps for each employee, including the date and time of each punch.
Location data: If you enable the GPS geofencing feature, we collect the GPS coordinates of employees at the time of each clock-in, and calculate and store the distance from your workplace address. This feature is off by default and must be explicitly enabled by the account administrator.
Device information: If enabled, we record whether each punch was made from a mobile phone or desktop browser. This feature is on by default and can be turned off in settings.
IP addresses: If you enable IP address logging in your settings, we record the IP address associated with each punch. This feature is off by default.
Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We store only the last 4 digits of your card and the card brand for display purposes. Full card details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
Usage data: We may collect basic usage information such as pages visited and actions taken, to improve the service.
As an account administrator, you are responsible for informing your employees about what data is collected through AvocadoClock and obtaining any required consents under applicable employment and privacy laws in your jurisdiction.
This is especially important if you enable GPS location tracking, IP address logging, or device detection. Employees should be made aware that these features are active.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including encrypted passwords, HTTPS connections, and secure environment variables for sensitive credentials. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we may retain your data for a reasonable period before deletion to allow for account recovery or legal compliance purposes.
